I typically have multiple bodies of work and varied endeavors in progress at the same time. Whether working solo or with others, with each new project I include some challenge that forces me to surpass anything that had to date become relatively “easy” for me to do. In this way I continually welcome a state of “beginner’s mind” and keep developing personally through the practice of making art.
When some idea fully engages my interest, the process itself determines the best media and approach to use. Through extensive experimentation each portion of a project informs the next.
In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few. - Shunryu Suzuki
