I typically have multiple bodies of work in progress at the same time. Whether working solo or with others, with each new project I include a challenge that forces me to surpass anything that had to date become relatively “easy” for me to do. In this way I welcome a state of “beginner’s mind” and keep developing personally through the practice of making art. When some idea or project fully engages my interest, the project itself determines the best media and approaches to use. Through extensive experimentation each portion of the project informs the next.

In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities,

but in the expert’s there are few.
